Our Mission

Native Stargazers was established to celebrate and share Indigenous perspectives on the cosmos. From constellations rooted in Indigenous traditions to breathtaking astrophotography inspired by the James Webb Telescope, we want to share the unique stories and beauty of space.

As Indigenous cultures have faced historical marginalization, many of their rich traditions and cosmological knowledge have been obscured. The mission of Native Stargazers is to revive and highlight the indigenous wisdom of the stars. We showcase the art, culture, and celestial knowledge of Indigenous communities across the Americas, fostering a deeper appreciation for their contributions to astronomy and beyond.
